World environment day was celebrated by the students of XD in the school hall on 4th June 2022 at Ladyhill Victoria Composite PU College. The programme began by invoking the blessings of God. Words of welcome were expressed by Medhini. The significance of the day was creatively presented by Alma and Neyna.

To make this day, the chief guest Tr. Sweety, Headmistress Sr. Ujwala along with the 8th Standard class teachers and their class representatives planted saplings in the school garden.

The stage was set on fire by the vibrant and graceful dancers of XD who portrayed a dance drama titled “Panchathatva”. It highlighted the past, present and future. It also emphasized the fact that we have to protect our Mother Earth in order to enjoy the future. A song dedicated to mother earth was sung by the students which added to the charm and beauty of the programme. All the XD students and their class teacher Tr. Anitha were appreciated for the wonderful programme.

The guest in her message to the students said that protecting mother earth should not be a one-day activity but instead an ongoing process with self-interest and motivation. As educated students everyone must take the initiative to save Mother earth and preserve its natural resources which includes trees, animals etc. A colourful backdrop with tree and captions on it added to the beauty of the stage.

Finally the programme ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Anisha.
